Save Our State Parks Concert

It was one of the "what?" headlines, for many people, earlier this summer: many California state parks were in peril. They could be closed, due to lack of funds. Fans of the parks began to ask questions, of course. What of that favorite big desert boulder they drive out to chill out on, strum the guitar, look at the stars? Their secret wildflower spot? That fantastic beach? What can we do?

The festival-making, spectacle-producing people at FYF asked just that. The result: Save Our State Parks concert, a full afternoon and night of music and awareness-raising. It's at Los Angeles State Historic Park near downtown -- a fitting location -- and the line-up is lengthy. The Thermals are on there, Black Lips, Dillinger Escape Plan, a special Tim & Eric thing, Glass Candy, many, many acts.

It's happening on Saturday, September 5th. Tickets are $20, and you can buy right this instant. Everything starts at 1PM and goes late-late into the night.

But not so late that you can't get up on Sunday and visit one our parks. There are several around LA County, a short drive. Support, our treasures. And, if you'd like to stay involved past the concert, or donate, or both, visit the California State Parks Foundation.
