"THE CAKE EATERS": We were just waxing about one of our favorite '80s films -- "Can't Buy Me Love," natch -- when along comes a notice about Mary Stuart Masterson's directorial debut having a sneak preview in Hollywood. We got to thinking of "Some Kind of Wonderful," that teen-angst-y gem from 1987, and in particular, Ms. Masterson's beautiful performance as Watts. Which made us eager to see what she has created, as a director, with "The Cake Eaters," a drama that's already played at the Tribeca Film Festival. Some of the cast, including Bruce Dern and Aaron Stanford, are scheduled to appear ("Twilight" fans, no word if Kristen Stewart will be there). Wednesday, March 11, 7:30PM. The Egyptian Theatre, 6712 Hollywood Boulevard, Hollywood
ALSO ON WEDNESDAY, MARCH 11:
GOWNS BY ADRIAN: Fashion aficionados, take note: The Hollywood Heritage Museum is devoting a night to Adrian, one of Tinseltown's earliest, and most glamorous, designers. Prepare to have your feathery boa knocked right off (and your socks, too). 7:30PM, Lasky-DeMille Barn at 2100 Highland, Hollywood.
ZACH GALIFIANAKIS IS "PANTLESS": Comedian Galifianakis has done so much. So much. Performed with the "Funny or Die" crew. Been in movies. Been on every late night talk show, including some that haven't been invented yet. He's also at Largo at the Coronet, at 9PM. 366 N. La Cienega, Los Angeles.
