West Hollywood turns 25

West Hollywood is known for its nightlife, shopping and restaurants, but 25 years ago what made news was its fight against high rent. It was so bad, a group of gays, Jews and Russians decided to break away from the county and form the 1.9-square-mile city of West Hollywood.

This year, "The Creative City" is celebrating that quarter of a century anniversary, and we decided to give you 25 places to check out to commemorate 25 years of cityhood.
