Try though we might, we cannot summon faraway vacation destinations, through the sheer power of wishing, to Southern California.

This true fact applies to every distant land we do love, from Iceland to Thailand to Switzerland. Stay put, these lovely lands must, and we must travel to them, if we'd like to experience all of their amazing gifts.

But there is a land that shall soon make its way to our area, and while it isn't nearly as large as any vacation destination you might have in your mind, it should provide you a picture-packed, snack-packed few minutes of guac-tastic goodness.

It's the Guaclandia Tour 2018, an on-the-roll truck from Wholly Guacamole, and it will pop up at the International Surf Festival in Manhattan Beach from Friday, Aug. 3 through Sunday, Aug. 5.

What will this luscious 'land deliver unto we avo-focused foodies of SoCal?

The opportunity to take a photo with an over-sized alligator pear (faux, natch). The chance to participate in greeny games. And, yes, a route to trying Wholly Guacamole guacamole.
