Curbed Poll: Eccentric Beverly Hills Estate

Taking a page from our sister site Racked LA, we're asking you to look at this home and vote on whether you like or dislike it—your choices are 'That's Rather Lovely!,' 'So close,' 'I feel strangely ambivalent about it,' or 'That's Rather Hideous!'

Finally! We've been waiting for a house to hit the market that could top Wolf's Lair for lovably wacky, Old Hollywood, Norma Desmond-level eccentricity. This Beverly Hills estate looks fairly modest from the outside (despite the hefty $17.2 million price tag) but within lies some of the most awesomely oddball decor we've seen in a while. The living room, for instance, has both a swordfish hanging above the "ice cream parlor" AND a life-size performance theater. In the same room. And we'd be remiss if we didn't mention the whimsical children's playhouse, lined with dolls and teddy bears. The estate also features a pool, tennis court, artist's studio, and separate staff quarters. According to the listing, the ten-bedroom, 12.5-bath house is offered for the first time in 50 years. Property records show the current owner as one Ola Zuckerman, and Ms. Zuckerman, we salute you. Listing here and official site is here.
