Firefighters work to put out the burning cab of a big rig on the I-15 freeway in Devore.

The cab of a big rig caught fire and caused a major traffic jam on a San Bernardino County freeway   Tuesday morning.

The fire happened in Devore on the southbound Mojave (15) Freeway near the Kenwood Avenue exit at 2:56 a.m., said San Bernardino County fire officials. The flames ignited some nearby brush, firefighters doused the flames.

The No. 2 and 3 southbound lanes were closed. The lanes will remain closed until the crash site is cleared, said CHP officials.

The lane closures caused traffic to back up for several miles, and it's unknown when those lanes will be reopened, CHP officers said.

No one was hurt, and the cause of the accident is under investigation.
