Instagram -- that billion-dollar baby -- is closer to being officially part of Facebook's platform. And the app has recently updated on iOS and Android, offering some significant upgrades.
Chiefly, it's easier to discover new shots and shooters to follow. It also is a much lighter load, with the camera cropping up quicker than before.
The 'Explore' tab has a search box where hashtags are easily surfaced. The optional 'share on Facebook' is expanded to include Likes of other photos, and not just shots the user has taken.
Other upgrades include improvements to commenting, autocompletes for people already being followed, visual improvements and speed optimizations.
The Android upgrades address an HTC Sensation glitch and other tilt shift issues.
