SHORT (TIME) BREAD: So we were far away from LA. Far. At a restaurant. The bread comes to the table, it's delicious, and the server informs us -- surprise -- the loaf hails from La Brea Bakery. This is all said to illustrate the power of the LBB. It is so powerful, and so crusty, and so able to serve bread-lovers in far-off zip codes, that when a loaf comes along for a short time, we act. The Cranberry-Walnut Loaf has been the November-January special, but, with January ending, so shall this tasty wintertime treat. Also, a note: A La Brea baker told us these loaves freeze well.
