Chula Vista police are investigating an overnight incident involving a young man who allegedly fired a gun into the air in the parking lot of a Wal-Mart.

According to officials, the shooting happened around 12:30 a.m. near the Wal-Mart located at 1360 Eastlake Parkway.

An 18-year-old man allegedly pointed a gun into the air and fired, but didn’t shoot at anyone. Officials say the suspect then fled the scene in a white PT Cruiser that had paper plates.

Officials say the car was also occupied by another man and possibly two women.
