Los Angeles is Number One in Job Losses

Being number one is normally a good thing but not in this case. Los Angeles saw the worst job losses of 354 metropolitan areas surveyed last year, according to data released from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.

194,900 jobs evaporated over a 12 month period from November 2008 to 2009 in the Los Angeles area including Long Beach and Santa Ana, according to the data.

Chicago came in second with a total of 186,000 jobs lost for the year.

If you're looking to find a job, you may want to check out the Tri-Cities area of Washington State. According to the data, Richland-Kennewick-Pasco topped the list for increases in employment since November 2008.
