1 Dead, 1 Man Injured After House Fire in Pasadena

One person was dead and one man was injured after a house caught fire in Pasadena Friday morning, authorities said.

The structure fire started around 7:50 a.m. in the garage of the home located in the 300 block of Redwood Drive in Pasadena, said Lisa Derderian of the Pasadena Fire Department.

Dozens of firefighters from the Pasadena Fire Department responded after they received a call around 7:51 a.m.

Initially, a man walking his dog saw the house was on fire. He tried to get inside the house by breaking a window, but the house was too smoky, according to the Pasadena Fire Department.

The man was injured and was treated on scene. 

Pasadena firefighters were working to extinguish the fire around 8:30 a.m. 

What started the fire was not immediately clear.
