Driver in Custody After 6 Others Hurt in Downtown LA Collisions

A driver who ran a red light was taken into custody Saturday morning after striking two pedestrians and hurting four others inside a car in downtown Los Angeles, police said.

The incident began shortly after 10:30 a.m. when police tried to pull over a vehicle who ran a red light at 4th and Wall streets, LAPD said. The driver of the vehicle evaded police, hitting a woman and a teeneager who were corssing the street at the intersection of 8th and Main streets, according to LAPD.

The suspect then drove off and crashed into a car carrying four passengers at 9th and Main streets, police said.

A total of seven victims, including the driver, were transported to a hospital..

The driver of the vehicle was taken into custody, according to LAPD.

No other details were immediately available.
