Armed Coffee Bean Robber Sought After Short Chase, Crash

Police were looking for a man who held up a Coffee Bean on the Westside of Los Angeles on Thursday night before fleeing in a getaway vehicle and crashing into an SUV.

The incident happened about 9:15 p.m. when a male robber held up a Coffee Bean in the 11000 block of Santa Monica Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

The man stole an unknown amount of cash. Police said the weapon used was a black semi-automatic gun. He ran to a gray Hyundai and drove two blocks west on Santa Monica before crashing into an SUV at Santa Monica and Bentley avenues.

Then he ran away.

He's described as Latino, 5 foot 10 and wearing a bandana over his face. There was no immediate word on injuries to the SUV driver.
