Men Take Cash, Cellphones During Armed Robbery at Sunland Gas Station

Two men robbed a Sunland gas station at gunpoint early Saturday, and took cash and cellphones during the confrontation.

Pedro Rosales, 23, a clerk at the gas station, was working when the pair came into the Shell gas station located in the 8000 block of Foothill Boulevard. One of the men was armed with a gun.

They ordered him to open the register and he obliged, he said.

"They told me not to move, and I'm just standing there like ... is this really happening," Rosales said.

Rosales said the men took his cellphone as well as other cellphones on sale in the store. He ran across the street to call police.

The Los Angeles Police Department's Foothill station responded to the robbery around 3 a.m., according to officer Thomas Bangasser.

The robbers were described as being 18 to 25-years-old and wore blue ski masks, hoodies and rubber gloves.

No shots were fired and no injuries were reported.

The robbery was under investigation Saturday.
