A man accused of trying to take photos underneath a customer's skirt at the HomeGoods store in Irvine where he worked is suspected of doing the same thing to other women, police said Wednesday as they asked any other alleged victims to come forward.
A customer of the store at 6214 Irvine Blvd. called police Saturday to report that she felt her skirt being touched and looked over her shoulder to see a man appear to try to use a cell phone camera to get an image up her dress, police said.
Matthew Torres, 22, of Irvine, retreated to a "restricted area of the store" when the woman confronted him, police said. When officers questioned Torres before arresting him, he allegedly "admitted to the activity" and let police search his phone.
Investigators found a "high number of inappropriate photographs" on the phone and the woman identified images of herself on the device, police said. He was arrested.
