A rescue crew plucked three hikers out of Griffith Park when they became stranded after succumbing to poison oak, fire officials said on Monday.
The hikers -- a 34-year-old man, a 17-year-old boy and a 14-year-old girl -- had to be rescued by firefighters after they became stranded on Sunday night, said Brian Humphrey, a Los Angeles city Fire Department spokesman.
At 4,310 acres, Griffith Park is one of the largest urban parks in North America where firefighters say they respond frequently to calls of hikers in distress.
The hikers were reported missing at 9:20 p.m. and officials searched briefly by ground and air, officials said.
