A man was holding his ex-girlfriend and their two young children hostage inside a Baldwin Hills home Tuesday night, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The situation started about 6:50 p.m. in the 4000 block of Don Ricardo Drive. Police said they were initially called to the scene on reports of a domestic disturbance.
Police believe the man may be armed, possibly brandishing a knife. The children are believed to be ages 3 and 6, police said.
SWAT officers have been called to the scene, which was still active as of 10 p.m.
