Sierra Madre resident Jennifer Kennedy had just gotten home when she looked out into her backyard and saw something unusual on her porch -- a bear.
"It was the closest a bear has ever gotten to our house," she said.
The bear wandered all the way up to the family's glass door, pressing its nose against the glass. Kennedy and her husband snapped a couple of pictures and videos, though they didn't go outside or try to shoo the bear away.
Kennedy said the bear was relatively friendly and just looking for food.
"They are our neighbors," she said. "It's just part of living in the mountains."
