After the body of a malnourished, abused 11-year-old boy was found wrapped in a blanket in a closet Tuesday, police arrested the child's mother, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Veronica Aguilar, the 39-year-old mother of the boy, was arrested on suspicion of child endagerment resulting in death or great bodily injury.
Police responded to the 2200 block of West Sunset Ave. at 2:15 p.m. on Monday after the father of the child, Jose Pinzon, called police.
He told officers that his wife told him that his son was dead.
The boy's father had gone to the woman's home in the 2100 block of Santa Ynez St. in LA and found the boy in the closet.
The child was wrapped in a blanket, police said.
When paramedics arrived at the home, they confirmed he was dead.

The boy was discovered to be starved, physically abused, and had been dead for hours.
The cause of death would not be revealed until a coroner could release autopsy findings.
