Car in Police Pursuit Crashes Into Market

A female motorist was hospitalized Wednesday when the car she was in crashed into a market after a short police pursuit in South Los Angeles, officials said.

The chase began at 8:25 p.m. when police tried to pull over the vehicle that had unmarked plates. It ended three minutes later when the car crashed into Big Saver Foods, at Slauson and Compton avenues, said LAPD Officer Sandra Infante.

The car crashed into the back of the store and no customers or employees were injured.

The car had been reported stolen, police said.

The female driver was taken to a hospital with minor injuries. She was the only occupant of the vehicle.
