Two Car-to-Car Shootings Reported in South LA

The shootings were reported about an hour apart early Tuesday morning

Two car-to-car shootings were reported overnight in South Los Angeles.

It was not immediately clear whether the shootings near Century Boulevard and Figueroa Street and in Westmont were connected.

The first shooting was reported at 1:40 a.m. after the victim arrived at a gas station near Century Boulevard and Normandie Avenue in the Westmont area. The victim told police a gunman fired at his vehicle from a black sedan.

He was not struck by gunfire. A detailed description of the attacker was not immediately available.

The second reported shooting occurred about an hour later near Century Boulevard and Figueroa Street. One round struck a car occupied by two men, one of whom was struck in the buttocks, police said.

The gunman's vehicle also was described as a black sedan, police said.
