Cuddly Ducklings Rescued From Busy Orange County Road

Mother duck "was keeping a watchful eye during the entire rescue operation"

A family of ducklings struggling to get out of a busy Orange County street got by a with a little help from some friendly strangers.

Mother duck and her 10 ducklings were on Bolsa Chica Road near the Seal Beach National Wildlife Refuge on Tuesday morning and couldn't jump up the curb, the Westminster Police Department said.

That's when Officer Edinger stepped in to get the ducklings to safety, and several concerned drivers also stopped to offer help.

Photos released by police show the adorable ducklings in a cardboard box.

An animal control officer released the ducklings in a safe place with their mom away from the road.

Police said mother duck "was keeping a watchful eye during the entire rescue operation."
