A water main broke early Thursday, shutting down an Encino eatery and a part of Ventura Boulevard so crews could clean up the damage.
At around 1 a.m., Los Angeles fire authorities responded to the broken water main, which was right in front of the Calif. Chicken Cafe, located at 15601 W. Ventura Boulevard.
Water rushed out into the restaurant and covered the floors of the dining area and the kitchen.
At least one westbound lane of Ventura Boulevard was shut down.
