Fire Crews Rescue Woman on Red Line Rail Tracks

Fire-rescue crews responded to a report of a person trapped Friday morning under a Red Line subway train in Hollywood.

An ambulance and at least seven LAFD vehicles were at the Hollywood/Western station in the 5400 block of Hollywood Boulevard (map).

The female victim was removed from the tracks, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. Aerial video showed one person transported to an ambulance.

The 40-year-old woman was hospitalized in serious condition. It was not immediately clear whether the woman jumped, fell or was pushed onto the tracks.

The train was approaching the platform level at the time.

Metro Red Line service was stopped during the rescue. Normal operations resumed Friday afternoon.
