Fire Damage at High School “All Over Snapchat and Facebook,” But Classes Held Anyway

Though eight classes were damaged in a three-alarm fire the day before, class was still in session at a Garden Grove high school Monday.

The cause of a fire that damaged an entire wing of Bolsa Grande High School on Sunday, Dec. 7, is still under investigation, according to the Garden Grove Fire Department. Classes were relocated to the cafeteria, library and gym, a Garden Grove Unified School District official said.

Students still came to school, and some got to peek at the fire damage.

"Two of the classes were really burnt, like the insides, you couldn't even see them, that's how bad it was burned down," said Christopher Garcia, a Bolsa Grande student.

Others got to see the damage themselves -- students were talking about the fire on social media.

"It was all over Snapchat and Facebook," said student Fairyl Rafiq.

One firefighter suffered injuries to his hands and had to be taken to a local hospital, but no other injuries were reported.
