Homeowner Fights Would-Be Robber in Orange County

Detectives were asking Thursday for the public's help in identifying a home invasion suspect who broke into a residence in the unincorporated Orange community of El Modena.

The knife-wielding man broke into the home in the 18000 block of East Vine Avenue at about 8:50 a.m Wednesday and demanded money from a woman, which prompted a man in the house who heard the commotion to confront the him, according to the Orange County Sheriff's Department.

The homeowner was cut on his face during a struggle with the would-be robber.

The would-be robber fled the area in a black, four-door sedan.
