Riders of the DASH bus line in downtown Los Angeles may want to stock up on quarters.

The Department of Transportation will eliminate free transfers on the downtown routes, effective Wednesday.

The fare on all DASH buses is 25 cents per boarding. The Department of Transportation also offers a monthly DASH pass for $9, which allows unlimited rides on all DASH lines.

DASH fares can also be paid for with LADOT Commuter Express/DASH monthly passes or the county-wide EZ transit pass.

"LADOT has eliminated transfers to help cut down on boarding time and keep our buses moving quickly through downtown L.A.," said Rita Robinson, general manager of the Department of Transportation.
