Vehicle Sheared in Half in Fatal Pasadena Collision

    One person was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Pasadena on Monday, June 23, 2014.

    A man in his 20s was killed in a traffic collision that left a vehicle completely sheared in half in Pasadena early Monday.

    Investigators responded around 2:45 a.m. to the single-vehicle crash on Del Mar Boulevard between Hill and Holliston avenues, according to an advisory from the Pasadena Police Department.

    The crash occurred right outside a Pasadena fire station, and firefighters were on scene within two minutes, according tofire spokeswoman Lisa Derderian.

    Drivers were warned to avoid the crash area as roadways were expected to be closed for several hours.

    Investigators said speed appeared to be a factor in the wreck.
