The Bandini Boulevard entrance ramp to the southbound 710 Freeway in Vernon was blocked Thursday morning after a crash that involved an onion truck.

The California Highway Patrol said the semi-trailer truck overturned into a ditch on the on-ramp just before 3 a.m.

The driver was not seriously hurt, but the CHP was forced to close the on-ramp while crews tried to upright the truck. Workers unloaded boxes of onions from the overturned truck.

All lanes remained open on the south 710, but traffic was affected by the crash.

CHP officials said the expected to have the crash clear by 9:30 a.m.
