Two women and a man were found dead in Oxnard Wednesday afternoon at two separate locations and police believe the fatal incidents are connected.

Neighbors reported hearing gunshots in the 1200 block of Hull Place, near M Street, where officers arrived to find the bodies of two women, one in her 40s, and the other in her 20s.

About a half hour later, officers responded to the 200 block of South Marquita Street, nearly two miles east of the first scene. There, they found a man in his 50s dead from an apparent gunshot wound.

Police said there is no reason to believe there’s a public threat.
