Police are asking for the public's help in identifying a man suspected of driving alongside a 14-year-old girl and trying to lure her into his car.
The girl was walking along Arneill Road on Monday when a Hispanic man in his 20s asked her to get in his car, Camarillo Police Department Sgt. John Franchi said in a press release. When she refused and continued walking, the man pulled up alongside her and again asked her to get in his car.
When the girl told the man she was only 14 and would not be getting into his car, he tried again by holding out money and asking her a "sexually motivated question," Franchi said.
The girl was eventually able to contact police as the man drove away. Officers were able to capture a photo of the suspect's car, believed to be a blue Toyota Corolla.
Anyone with information on the suspect, described as a Hispanic male in his 20s with a shaved head, was asked to call the Ventura County Sheriff's Office at 805-654-9511.
