Homicide detectives were investigating the circumstances surrounding the discovery of what may be human remains in the Gorman area Saturday.
The remains were found by personnel from the California Department of Forestry in a ravine near Ridge Route Road south of Highway 138 (map), the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said.
Detectives responded to the call just after 11 a.m.
Examiners from the coroner's office will determine whether the remains are human and the cause of death.
