The first reports of gunshots came in at 11:52 a.m. A house was engulfed in flames and a gunman, armed with an assault rifle, was on a rampage through Santa Monica, according to Santa Monica police.
In the next several minutes, he would open fire on a public bus and exchange gunfire with officers before running onto the Santa Monica College campus, where the bloodshed continued.
