Driver Sought After Hit-and-Run Crash Into Building

Five people were rescued after they were trapped in a vehicle that crashed into a building in Rosemead early Wednesday morning, firefighters said.

The crash was reported at about 4:57 a.m. at 8482 Garvey Avenue, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

Firefighters rescued five people who were trapped in the vehicle, which plunged about 50 feet through the wall of the structure.

One person was transported to a hospital suffering from abrasions and a contusion. Another person suffered minor injuries but was not transported. The remaining crash victims were being assessed by firefighters at the scene, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

Investigators said the crash was the result of a hit-and-run accident. The driver of the hit-and-run vehicle fled from the scene, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
