‘She Was So Bubbly': Manhattan Beach PD Employee Mourned After Vegas Shooting

"She was very, very bright and so willing to help out anyone who needed assistance."

Thirty-three-year-old Rachael Parker was among the victims attending a Las Vegas concert that would become the deadliest mass shooting in modern United States history.

A records technician for the Manhattan Beach Police Department, Parker was at the concert with three other department employees.

Parker was shot during the gunfire that left at least 59 dead and more than 500 injured. Two coworkers, including police intern Sayeh Khan, helped take Parker by taxi to the hospital, but she sadly died there.

"She was so bubbly," said Manhattan Beach Police Department Chief Eve Irvine at a Tuesday afternoon press conference. "She was very, very bright and so willing to help out anyone who needed assistance."

Parker was also remembered for her love of animals and for her work in helping seniors in Manhattan Beach.

Irvine also praised six-year police officer Chad Swanson, who was among the group of department employees at the concert and who helped those wounded by the gunfire.

"He went back and forth to help get those other shooting victims out of harm's way, and that's pretty darn admirable," Irvine said.
