Man Posing as Resident Assistant Tries to Enter CSUSB Apartments

The man knocked on the doors of two CSUSB apartments, and said he needed to make maintenance repairs.

Students at California State University, San Bernardino were being warned about a suspicious man on campus posing as a resident assistant and attempting to gain access into student housing apartments, officials said.

Two separate incidents occurred on Wednesday and Friday, both at approximately 9 p.m., according to a campus safety alert issued by the Cal State San Bernardino Police Department.

According to police, the man knocked on the doors of two CSUSB University Village Apartments, stating he was a resident assistant and needed to gain entry into their rooms for maintenance repairs.

It is unknown what happened following the attempted entry.

Residents were asked to be cautious of any unknown or suspicious persons near or around their apartments.

The suspect was described as all tall black male adult with short curly hair. He was last seen wearing dark-colored shorts and a plaid red short sleeve shirt, police said.
