    A Southern California high school teacher pleaded guilty on Tuesday to charges she had sex with two students.

    Gabriela Cortez, 43, entered pleas on Monday to six felony counts of unlawful sexual intercourse, the Pasadena Star-News reports.

    She's free on bail pending sentencing in January. The judge says he will await a probation report before deciding on a sentence.

    Gabriela Cortez was booked on suspicion of having sex with two students. She teaches at Roosevelt High School in Boyle Heights, but police say the suspected abuse happened in Montebello where she lives. Patrick Healy reports from the school in Boyle Heights.

    Cortez taught Spanish at Roosevelt High School in East Los Angeles. She was placed on leave after her February arrest.

    Prosecutors say Cortez had sex at her Montebello home with two male students who were 16 and 17 years old at the time.
