A truck driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI Tuesday morning after crashing into a clothing store in the Silver Lake area.
The driver did not suffer serious injuries, according to authorities. No one was inside at the time of the crash.
The front of the Hyperion Avenue building sustained significant damage, leaving debris on the sidewalk and street. Authorities are attempting to determine whether the building is safe to enter.
Workers continued to clean up in front of the store at midday. A security gate at an auto body shop next door also was damaged.
"It happens a lot that the cars come around the corner fast," said Kevin Martirosyan, of Rick's Auto Body. "I guess all the upgraded signs have not helped at all."
Several other business owners told NBC4 vehicles have previously crashed into buildings along the stretch of road.
