Deputies are looking for two men who allegedly robbed a Ladera Ranch convenience store at gunpoint.

One of the men allegedly walked into an Arco AM/PM in the 27400 block of Antonio Parkway around 11:20 p.m. Monday and demanded cash from two registers, brandishing a black handgun at the clerk. The second man paced in front of the store just before a robbery, and distracte a witness - who turned out to be an off-duty police officer - during the robbery.

Both men fled on foot, running to the back of adjoining businesses. The off-duty police officer chased after them once the store clerk made him aware of the robbery, but was unable to locate them.

The man who robbed the store is described as a black man in his 20s. He wore a gray shirt, PJ bottoms and a black baseball cap with a Pittsburgh Steelers emblem. He was wearing gloves and covered his face with a green bandana.

The second man, who distracted the witness, is described as a black or Hispanic man in his 20s. At the time of the robbery he was wearing a black T-shirt, gray jeans and a red and yellow baseball cap.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Orange County Sheriff’s Department at 949-425-1900.
