A 90-year-old driver plowed his car completely into a department store at a Seal Beach mall Monday and luckily no one inside the store was injured, according to Seal Beach Police.
The driver, described only as a 90-year-old man, had his wife in her 80s in the car with him when the car plowed through the plate glass front of the New York & Company store around 2:40 p.m., Seal Beach police said.
The crash occurred at the Shops at Rossmoor Mall, located at 12181 Seal Beach Boulevard.
The driver and his wife were taken to the hospital with cuts and bruises from the glass.
Miraculously, no one inside the store was hurt, despite holiday shopping.
"Everyone was super lucky," Sgt. Ron LaVelle of Seal Beach Police said. "We're very fortunate."
