Chargers to Make StubHub Center Debut

The Los Angeles Chargers are advising fans to arrive by 3:30 p.m. Sunday when the team plays at StubHub Center for the first time.

Those who do not arrive by 4 p.m. risk missing the 5 p.m. kickoff for the preseason game against the Seattle Seahawks.

The Southwest, Southeast and Northwest Valet Gates will open at 1:30 p.m., with the remaining gates opening at 3 p.m.

Parking at StubHub Center is limited for season ticket members who have not pre-purchased parking passes. Day of game parking is available for purchase in Silver and Red lots on a first-come, first-served basis.

Free parking is available at the Harbor Gateway Transit Center and Del Amo Blue Line station. Free Chargers Express bus service will begin at 2:30 p.m. from both locations with buses leaving approximately every 10 minutes.

The game day experiences will combine new elements with those from the Chargers 56 seasons in San Diego and pay homage to the team's inaugural 1960 season, when it played at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.

The Chargers will start each game with a blast from the Chargers Cannon, which has been used at every home game since 1961, the team's first in San Diego. Beginning this season, the cannon will be set off by a notable figure. Dick Harris, a defensive back with the Chargers from 1960-65, will do the honors Sunday.

Four flag runners will lead the players onto the field. Two of the flags will have the team's lightning bolt logo while the other team will have the original shield logo, which was unveiled in 1960.

The Chargers will introduce two new musical elements. The Thunderbolts are a 25-member drumline that will play throughout StubHub Center, concourses and various stadium entrances. The Bolts Bugler will encourage fans to shout the word "Chargers" throughout the game
