Michael Brownlee is a co-anchor of the "NBC4 News at Noon" and a general assignment reporter for the station's early morning newscast "Today in LA." Brownlee joined NBC4 in November 2011.

From 2003 to 2008, Brownlee was a general assignment reporter and weekend anchor for KCOP's My 13 News in Los Angeles. When the duopoly of KCOP (channel 13) and KTTV (channel 11) consolidated news efforts in 2008, Brownlee became a general assignment reporter and fill-in anchor for both stations. During that time, Brownlee won a 2011 Golden Mike Award for Best Sports Reporting for a KTTV profile he did on a young male high school baton twirler.

Brownlee was a general assignment reporter for KCBS in Los Angeles from 2000 to 2003. He began his career in radio promotions, transitioning into television in 1995 when he became a general assignment editor at KYMA in Yuma, Ariz. It didn't take long before he was promoted to an anchor position at the Yuma NBC Affiliate. After that, he worked as a reporter for the syndicated video magazine show "Real TV" from 1996 to 1999.

A native of San Diego, Brownlee's connection to television and broadcasting stems from his parents. His father worked for three decades in programming at CBS' KFMB; his mother had a long career as a film editor and director at San Diego's KGTV and KUSI-TV.

In addition to his news career, Brownlee has made television appearances on such shows as "Everybody hates Chris," "Boston Legal," "Charmed" and "Strong Medicine." He has also had roles in the theatrical films "Bruce Almighty" and "War of the Worlds."

Brownlee received his B.A. in Broadcast Journalism with a Sociology minor from San Diego State University. He is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists.

Brownlee resides in Los Angeles with his wife and baby daughter.
