Investigators from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department are searching for three miniature horses and one miniature donkey.
The animals were who were taken at about 1:30 a.m., Wednesday from their barn in Nuevo .
The suspects cut a hole in the fence at the rear of the property, then removed the horses from their barn, Sgt. Stephen Mike said in a news release. Two of the horses were pregnant and may be in need of special veterinary care.
On Feb. 28, two men in their twenties came to the property and inquired about the horses. Those two men were driving a black Ford pick up truck, described as a late 80’s to early 90’s, pulling a silver stock trailer with surface rust.
