'Tis the season to be jolly -- and to give generously.
With California and Los Angeles County’s unemployment rates at about 12 percent by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics latest estimates, the Toys for Tots program helps struggling families deliver holiday joy to their children.
The U.S. Marine Corps Reserve’s Toys for Tots program seeks to collect new, unwrapped toys during the holidays for distribution to underprivileged children in communities throughout the states.
Monetary donations can be made at www.toysfortots.org, or those seeking to donate a toy can locate a toy drop-off location by searching “California” in the website’s “Find a Local Campaign Office” search box.
