Cars drive in the High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lane (R), also called the diamond or commuter lane, on the 118 or Ronald Reagan Freeway on February 3, 2005 near Simi Valley, California.
For the third weekend in a row, the busiest route from Los Angeles International Airport to surrounding freeways will be closed -- but this time, it's for a car commercial taping.
Also closed will be eastbound 105 onramps from Imperial Highway at Sepulveda, and the onramp from Parkview Drive in El Segundo.
The eastbound 105 onramp on Imperial Highway near La Cienega Boulevard will be open, but that ramp does not connect to ramps from the 105 to the San Diego (405) Freeway.
Motorists departing LAX were advised to use surface streets like Century, Aviation or La Cienega boulevards to reach the freeways by avoiding the Sepulveda Boulevard tunnel, where heavy traffic was expected.
Last weekend, the airport exit ramp to the 105 was closed for repair of a chronic pavement problem, which numerous cars to spin out when the road was wet. The weekend before that, the ramp was closed because the pavement was wet.
