Going German: You like beer. You like streusel. You like giant pretzels and sauerkraut. And you love to see people dressed up in funny little outfits. You don't have to plan a trip to Munich to see what the fuss is about. The little town of Campbell’s Chamber of Commerce is hosting its 16th Annual Oktoberfest and authenticity is crucial. Everything down to the lederhosen will reflect a true German influence. It’s a two-day festival from October 16-17.
Go for the good of it: Headlining the fest will be the über cool traditional European band, the Alpiners. And lots and lots of accordian playing. As one of the Chamber’s key fundraising events, get out there and support the city of Campbell and its ability to give back to nonprofit orgs.
Fun fact: In Munich, the beer has 5.8% to 6.3% alcohol so many of the festival goers pass out and become “Bierleichen” or “beer corpses”.
