It has happened to everyone. A telecom representatives offers you a great deal on a bundle with phone, Internet, cable -- the works. But when the bill arrives a month later, it is much higher than what the representative said it would be.
You call the company and of course they have a plethora of excuses to justify why it is so expensive. This is all too common. NBC has responded to more than 2,300 complaints about big telecoms and their misleading verbal sales agreements.
To make sure this doesn't happen to you make sure you get an agreement in writing before you sign up. If they refuse to provide a written agreement prior to you signing up you can file a complaint with the FCC online.
