1947 Project People Launch Downtown-Enamored Blog

It's hard for us to read In SRO Land, the new blog from Kim Cooper and Richard Schave, without tucking a gardenia behind one ear while making sure the sun is pouring into the room through atmospheric blinds. After all, Cooper and Schave were the people behind the 1947 Project, the much buzzed-about blog from a few years back that gamely covered all that was dark and thrilling and Chandleresque about a certain period in our city.

Plus, they're the guides behind Esotouric, the tours that examine the scandal and stories behind the famous and infamous who've called the City of Angels home. We're only sorry we missed the recent Route 66 outing, but we're sure it'll come around again.

Putting the focus on downtown's historic core, In SRO Land is already thick with juicy tales of garters that somehow make their way off ladies' legs, vice raids, and lads on the drink. Los Angeles buffs, history buffs, noir people, and downtown devotees, board the blog trolley and head straight for heady tales of days gone by. Behind-the-ear gardenia optional.
