Grass Stains, Pretty Eggs, Kidlets Hauling Baskets

We can't decide what we like best: the vinegar-y smell of the egg dye, the sweet pastel colors everywhere, the fake grass in the baskets, or the crazy dash to find all the eggs before your siblings/cousins/friends. Oh, we like it all. And we're finding Easter egg fun at...

THE ARBORETUM: The gorgeous, expansive Arcadia gardens are throwing The Great Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 11 from 10AM-2PM. Best leave that fancy basket in the car (or at home), because it won't be allowed in. Baskets are provided.

DESCANSO GARDENS: The annual egg hunt is a big tradition at a historic La Canada Flintridge spot that knows all about tradition. We're mad about the mountain-view setting and flowery gift shop; kidlings will like sprinting about for colorful, hidden orbs. Saturday, April 11, 9:30AM-2PM (Descanso recommends arriving early to secure a spot.)

PERSHING SQUARE: We well remember faster older siblings finding most of the eggs before we did; so that the Eggstravaganza at Pershing Square is divided by age groups is bliss to us. There are also crafty things to look at, tunes, and other springtime delights. Saturday, April 11, 11AM-4PM.
