Hermès Art Pod, Revamped Boutique Land in the OC

Chanel's Mobile Art Pavillion may have crash-landed before hitting LA, and Prada's eerie 'Transformer' is sticking to Seoul, but Hermès is making sure SoCal doesn't miss out on all the roaming art pod fun. The brand's futuristic H-Box will make its US debut at the Orange County Museum of Art this Sunday, coinciding with the launch of South Coast Plaza's newly renovated Hermes boutique.

The structure, designed by Portuguese architect Didier Fiuza Faustino, will be displaying the work of emerging video artists at OCMA through September 6. The H-Box has been travelling around the world since 2007, when it debuted at Paris' Centre Pompidou, and its OC sojurn marks its only West Coast stop on the tour.

To mark the occasion, the newly remodelled Hermès shop, located in South Coast Plaza's Nordstrom Wing, will be donating a portion of this week's sales to OCMA. With its limestone flooring, Greque glass lighting and rich cherry wood accents, interior designer Rena Dumas crafted the space to mirror Hermès' Parisian flagship - kind of like a gallery of the more traditional kind.
